"Truly no man can ransom himself,
    or give to God the price of his life,
 for the ransom of his life is costly,
    and can never suffice,
that he should continue to live on for ever,
    and never see the Pit." Psalm 49:7-9 (RSVCE)

Meditation: We take nothing to the grave except a life that we hope was well lived in service to God and our brothers and sisters.

"Be not afraid when one becomes rich,
    when the glory of his house increases.
For when he dies he will carry nothing away;
    his glory will not go down after him." Psalm 49:16-17 (RSVCE)

Meditation: Where is my treasure? There is nothing more important to me than my relationship with God.

Here is the 20th prayer from my book, 100 Prayers of Purity for the Mission of Our Lady of America. Enjoy!

Prayer 20

Madonna in Glory1

Almighty, everlasting God, we humbly pray Thy Majesty, that as Thine only-begotten Son was presented in the Temple in the substance of our flesh, so Thou wouldst enable us to present ourselves before Thee with clean hearts. We ask this through Jesus Christ, Thy son, who lives and reigns with Thee and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Amen.39
